“You are free to be different.”

How do you perceive FAILURE? Let’s evaluate.

I was talking to my very wise cousin last night about how our family’s opinions, viewpoints, biases, etc. were programmed into our subconscious before we had a choice.

To which he replied, “You are free to be different.”

We’ve been taught to FEAR failure since before we even knew what it meant. But what if that fear is more about someone else’s beliefs than our own?

From the moment we were old enough to understand words, the world around us started shaping our view of failure. Read that again.

Before our brains were developed enough to discern what failure truly meant, we absorbed the beliefs, fears, and judgments of our parents, caregivers, and society. This conditioning became DEEPLY embedded in our subconscious, creating a powerful force that influences our actions—or more often, our inactions.

Even as adults, with the conscious understanding that failure is simply feedback and a STEPPING STONE TO GROWTH, our subconscious mind, programmed to protect us, does its best to keep us “safe” by avoiding any risk of failure.

This is why you might find yourself hesitating to take bold steps in your career, fitness, or personal life, despite knowing that growth requires stepping OUT of your comfort zone.

As Thomas Edison famously said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

🎆 Imagine if we all embraced this mindset! 🎇

But HOW do we shift from fearing failure to embracing it as a crucial part of our journey ⁉

The first step is recognizing when our behaviors and inactions are rooted in outdated beliefs. These beliefs were instilled in us long before we could decide if we actually agreed with them.

To start breaking free from this subconscious programming, consider incorporating these practices into your routine ➡

🧘‍♀️ Meditation – Quiet your mind and connect with your inner self. This helps you identify the underlying fears that hold you back.
👍 EFT Tapping – This powerful technique can help you release emotional blocks and reframe your perception of failure. (More on this one very soon!)
🗒 ✏ Soul-Searching Journaling – Regular journaling can uncover patterns of self-sabotage rooted in the fear of failure.

By bringing these patterns to light, you can release the misaligned energy and make space to start to reprogram your subconscious.

Remember, there’s no shame in acknowledging that your current perspective on failure was shaped by others. The key is to RECOGNIZE it, CHALLENGE it, and REPLACE it with a mindset that EMPOWERS you to TAKE ACTION and GROW.
